Termite Repair Bay Area – San Mateo

Very few things can damage your home as severely as the unchecked spread of termites. Swarms of these tiny insects are drawn to anything that contains wood, including the framing and sheathing materials that form the backbone of your valuable roof. With our framing and remodeling expertise, we not only eliminate termite infestation, we repair and replace areas that have been damaged.  We have the skills you need to restore the health of your roof, walls, and other parts of your home.

Termites cause $5 billion worth of damage each year in the U.S. each year.

Identify and fix the problem as early as possible to prevent irreparable damage.  What kind of mayhem do these nasty little critters cause, and how do you spot the signs? Termites eat into the very structure of your home — the support beams, floor joists, posts, ceiling joists and wall studs. If you or your inspector find superficial termite damage, chances are high that here’s more damage beneath.

So, how do you spot the warning signs?

    • One of the most common ways homeowners find out they have termites is when they see swarming. Swarming happens during the spring, when winged termites emerge inside homes.
    • Discarded termite wings, bubbling wallpaper, buckling wood, swollen floors and ceilings, visible mazes in walls or furniture, holes or craters in firewood piles or stumps, or termite droppings — which, unsurprisingly, look like tiny piles of sawdust.
    • Sometimes termite damage looks a lot like water damage.

Generally, you have two choices when repairing wood damaged by termites. Remove the damaged wood and replace it with new wood. Attach new wood to the damaged wood to provide support (more cost-effective when feasible).

Don’t bother making any repairs until you know the termite issue is under control and eradicated.

We have experience in all aspects of the construction trade with over 20 years of building experience in the San Francisco Bay Area.
